grass dancing in the wind

Have you ever stood and watched the wind blowing over a field of grass? Have you been transfixed by this view as I am? Every blade of grass, so beautiful in itself, and yet a field full of them, as if the individual is of no consequence. It is a sea, a sea of grass, and as the wind blows gently across this sea, the grasses sway and dance. Every one moving individually and yet with a certain togetherness as well, so that it appears as waves flowing through the grass. It is a serene movement and very alive, as if the grass is dancing, dancing in the wind, happy to be swayed this way and that.

As I gaze at this grass dancing its simple dance, I become still and inside I begin to melt. Something softens and a joy bubbles up as if my own spirit is dancing with the grass – alive, awakened by the wind, with no purpose. There is no seduction to be made, just a dance, a dance in the sea of grass on the outside, and in my innermost being on the inside. Ahh, a field of grass dances in the wind.
